Capturer des personnes et des paysages et leurs interactions à la lumière d’un monde en transition, c’est encapsuler un moment inimitable, qui ne se matérialisera plus jamais. Ma propre "prise" en tant que photographe géographe!
Né dans la ville de Derry, j'ai passé la majeure partie de ma vie hors d'Irlande, en Angleterre, à Singapour, au Togo, en Italie, en Éthiopie et au Brésil. Récemment je suis rentré en Irlande (Donegal).
Ma photographie, avec les voyages, sont devenus deux passions de ma vie. J'ai étudié la géographie à l'université et l'enseigné dans des écoles internationales. Ma photographie est axée sur la culture, les paysages et la vie sauvage. des images qui reflètent un voyage spatial et temporel dans la vie et qui tentent de traduire le besoin de vivre dans un monde plus durable. Je cherche le moment et la lumière quel que soit le contexte dans lequel je me trouve et j'essaie d'utiliser mon sens aigu de la photographie pour transformer l'ordinaire en extraordinaire.
J'ai publié des images dans des magazines, des calendriers et des cartes et je les ai présentées à la Royal Geographical Society en décembre 2011 et à des établissements d'enseignement supérieur en Irlande en 2013. Ces images ont été utilisées dans l'industrie du tourisme, la rédaction de voyages en ligne et à des fins pédagogiques. des présentations pour le Baccalauréat International. J'ai également exposé en Ethiopie, en Suisse et en Irlande. J'ai atteint la finale du photographe de voyage de l'année en 2010, 2011, 2013 et 2015 et j'ai également été finaliste dans le photographe de voyage de l'année 2013 décerné par le «magazine Wanderlust» dans la catégorie portefeuille. Les images ont été exposées au salon 'Times' Travel and Destinations à Earlscourt à Londres en février 2014. Mes images de l'Éthiopie ont été utilisées en ligne par le journal italien 'La Republica' et également publiées en ligne par National Geographic, 1x.com et Africa Geographic. J'étais finaliste (finaliste) du «photographe de l'année Africa Geographic» et lauréat de la catégorie «People and Culture» 2015. J'ai été publié dans l'annuaire Africa Geographic, The Exposure Awards et une image «The Old Priest». 'a été présenté lors d'une exposition de deux semaines à Londres, en association avec Photocrowd, Alamy et theprintspace, en septembre 2016. Une image de la tribu des Suri en Éthiopie a également été publiée dans le calendrier' Survival - calendar 2016 et a ensuite été publiée dans les journaux Guardian et Telegraph. au Royaume-Uni.
J'aspire à avoir une vision pour demain - Une vision alternative. Je crois que la photographie peut capturer ces moments inimitables et nous permettre de faire un changement positif dans notre monde.

To capture people and landscapes and the interactions between them in the light of a world in transition is to encapsulate an inimitable moment, which will never again materialise. My own 'take' as a geographer photographer!
Born in the City of Derry but I have lived most of my life outside the bounds of Ireland in England, Singapore, Togo, Italy, Ethiopia and Brazil. Recently I returned to Ireland (Donegal).
My photography, together with travel, have become two of my life’s passions. I studied Geography at University and taught it in international schools. My photography focuses on culture, landscapes and wildlife; images which reflect a spatial and temporal journey through life and which try to convey a need to live in a more sustainable world. I seek the moment and the light in whatever context I find myself and endeavour to use my photographic acumen to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary.
I have published images in magazines, calendars and cards, and I presented to The Royal Geographical Society in December 2011 and to tertiary institutions in Ireland in 2013. Images have been used in the tourist industry, online travel writing and for educational purposes in the form of presentations for the International Baccalaureate. I have also exhibited in Ethiopia, Switzerland and Ireland. I reached the final of Travel Photographer of the year in 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2015 and was also a finalist in the 'Wanderlust Magazine' Travel Photographer of the year in 2013 in the portfolio category. The images were exhibited at the 'Times' Travel and Destinations show at Earlscourt in London in February 2014. My images of Ethiopia have been used online by the Italian newspaper ‘La Republica’ and also published online by National Geographic, 1x.com and Africa Geographic. I was a finalist (runner up) in the ‘Africa Geographic photographer of the year’ and winner of the ‘People and Culture’ category 2015. I have been published in the Africa Geographic yearbook, The Exposure Awards and one image ‘The Old Priest’ was showcased in a 2-week exhibition in London in association with Photocrowd, Alamy and theprintspace in September 2016. An image of the Suri tribe in Ethiopia was also published in the ‘Survival - calendar in 2016 and subsequently published the Guardian and Telegraph newspapers in the UK.
I aspire to have a vision for tomorrow - An Alternative Vision. I believe that photography can capture those inimitable moments and empower us to make a positive change in our world.
